Many guitar players (myself included) came to Irish music from somewhere else. Which probably means you learned standard tuning. But good news! You needn’t abandon good ol’ EADGBE just because you want to play some jigs & reels. Far from it. There are a wide variety of chord shapes and techniques which make standard tuning “sound more Irish.” And perhaps the best news of all: you don’t need to use barre chords.
